PILLOWLANDO9 - Orlando’s Official 2009 World Pillow Fight Day Event, timed to coincide with over 60 pillow fights in cities around the world; and one of only three events of its kind in the Southeast. All interested PILLOWLANDO9 participants should bring a pillow to Duncan Park at SunTrust Center at 5:00 PM and wait for the signal. “Pillow fight!” At that time, pillows will swing and whack as those assembled experience a massive urban pillow fight. It’s free and a whole lot of fun.

Orlandoans who love free, fun, public events like pillow fights, creative interventions, games and interactive art installations are invited to show up and take part, as well as all curious tourists and other Central Floridians who find out about it as World Pillow Fight Day and PILLOWLANDO9 draws near.

The Rules:

Soft pillows only! + Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once. + Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras. + Remove glasses beforehand! + The event is free and appropriate for all ages. + Wait until the signal to begin. + Please, please, please do not use feather pillows! (This is a feather-free fight.) + If anyone has a hard pillow, you should return it to the shop, because it’s faulty. (Costumes and unique pillows definitely encouraged.)

Public Transportation / Vehicle Parking / Biking / Walking: LYNX: Take Link 3, 7, 11, 13, 18, 51 or LYMMO (Free Downtown Orlando Circulator). The bus stop is directly in front of event site. / There are two parking garages at the event site, SunTrust Center and Lincoln Plaza; rates vary. Metered street parking is available throughout downtown. / Biking and walking are both good for you and pleasant modes of transportation on a Saturday afternoon, and anytime!

In case you’re wondering, the reason PILLOWLANDO9 isn’t taking place at Lake Eola Park this year is due to Spring Fiesta in the Park the same weekend. This is aside from our intent to move the event to a new Orlando location each year. 2010 in Parramore!
